Hope is often trivialized by our petty
daily desires. We hope for sunshine and
warmth on days we wish to spend outside,
for a special package to arrive on time,
or for better days to come our way; but to
have real hope is not merely to wish that
circumstances will turn out favorably.
Rather, hope is having the courage to wait
on our Heavenly Father during the darkest
times of our lives, believing that His loving
hand will never leave us and His gentle
promises will keep us in His will.
The stories that you will find in Miss Kitty
and the Irish Rebellion and Other Stories
for the Young, teach the difference between
the fleeting hope that the world offers and
the deep hope that Jesus Christ offers.
Through Miss Kitty, Ethel Seymour, and
the quiet prayers of children, we see that
God offers hope for each day we tarry on
this earth.
