Great Resource!

The title of this book and it's summary caught my eye as my daughter, age 8, has really been challenged by math this year. So I bought this book hoping it would give me help in teaching her perseverance and WOW! It's doing just that! So much so, that the other day I was struggling with something and my daughter reminded me to "Overcome difficulty, Mom." I love it! Chapters are perfect length and I like how the older words are explained by footnotes (no hassle vocabulary lessons!). Our motto for this year is "Overcome difficulty" and my daughter is all in! I read a chapter to her every night before bed and find myself praying the lesson of the chapter over her. Love how this book is giving me fresh ways to pray for her. Highly recommend this book to anyone who is needing some fuel in their tank to press on and overcome.

We have a 6, almost 4, and almost 2 year old. We are reading this as a family read aloud and have enjoyed going through difficulties with the main character, Jack. As parents, we appreciate the perseverance Jack portrays to our children and our kids enjoy listening to how Jack overcomes his obstacles! A new question in our household has become "Are you going to conquer this difficulty or allow it to conquer you?" Highly Recommend this book!

This book is a must for a generation and culture that thinks they are entitled to everything. It is a fabulous tale about how to take nothing and make something out of it through hard work and determination.

My husband and I read to our seven year old son. We strive to find stories that support a biblical foundation with integrity and encouragement. We love how this story unfolds and as the main character learns to maintain honesty and cheerfulness as he perseveres through each difficulty he encounters in life.
